Overview/Position Summary

We are seeking a confident and self-motivated candidate who is committed to spending the time & energy to leverage knowledge, active learning insights and applications to increase education sales (K-12 & Higher Education) in the Scott Rice Office Works defined territory and plan. This individual will manage and develop new business opportunities, service existing clients and increase overall customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop strong relationships with Deans, CIO's, Provosts, Librarians, Administrators, and other school personnel that influence or make decisions.
  • Support AEC Market Development & Steelcase team to collaborate with leading A&D firms who have a primary focus on education. Share insights, benchmarking, etc to grow relationships and become valued partner.
  • Maintain key vendor and industry relationships and identify opportunities for partnership and alignment with market development pursuits.
  • Driver of questions to understand customer needs, convey the Scott Rice value proposition to customers, demonstrate that value and deliver a compelling return on investment story.
  • Research and stay cognizant of educational market trends to determine potential sales opportunities, short and long term. Attend relevant conferences and community of practice meetings nationally to gain knowledge and relevancy.
  • Represent Scott Rice Education Solutions at regional conferences (as applicable) and present relevant content as speaker or panelist when possible.
  • Provide leadership in strategies for pilots, surveys, professional development and post-occupancy support relating to space utilization.
  • Develop 5-year opportunity forecast and annual marketing budget for education division.
  • Work closely with Account Managers to identify target opportunities, strategic plans/actions for each target. This position is not responsible for Account Managers but is to work closely to bring the Scott Rice Education Value Proposition to market.
  • Coordinate weekly team meetings, manufacturer training and marketing outreach. Monitor and measure team performance and address deficiencies with sales leadership.

Qualifications:

Education/Experience

Bachelor's Degree from a four year college or university preferred, 5 years + related experience; or equivalent combination or education and experience. Prior experience in the educational field a plus.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Proven leadership and mentoring ability. High level of experience managing tasks and teams, critical dates and client relations.
  • Growth focused - seeks business opportunities and expansion
  • Must be results oriented and have ability to focus on accomplishments
  • Requires strategic thinking with ability to conduct market analysis and shift strategies as required
  • Must be extremely organized, with superior time management skills and the ability to work independently
  • Exemplary verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to analyze and problem solve
  • Ability to travel for client visits, conferences and industry related events.
  • Proficient in Microsoft office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
