Director of Business Development
The role of the Director of Business Development is to identify specific opportunities, and create strategies to win business within assigned markets.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Develop a target prospecting list by market segment.
- Create an annual forecast for the markets, and follow the outline in the annual Business Development business plan.
- Build relationships in a minimum of four networking groups, affiliations or organizations.
- Extend relationships beyond the networking events, and identify an influence structure.
- Work with the Chief Business Development Officer on creating and implementing account strategies.
- Work with our Marketing, Design, Admin and Logistic teams on creating the ultimate customer experience.

- Client job sites in various stages of construction.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Interface with vendors and all internal departments.
- After hours networking events, and travel (air and road) required as needed.
- Relationship focused.
- Professional appearance.
- Work with our integrated companies on opportunities outside of furniture.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- College degree or equivalent. (Business, Design, Journalism, Architecture and Marketing optimal but not required)
- Sales skills, business acumen, and excellent communication skills.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Successful selling and/or networking experience, knowledge of the sales cycle.
- Able to handle stress, and to manage multiple tasks through efficient time management skills
- Familiar with PC based operating systems
- Ability to internalize and communicate the research and insights on industry trends
