A leading flooring company is currently looking for a Project Manager to work in its Lenexa, KS office. The applicant must be goal-orientated and enjoy working in a fast-pace, ever changing environment. Communication and people skills are essential as this position requires working with & communicating with clients on an everyday basis.

 Candidate must have:      Communication and people skills

                                                 Basic computer skills in excel, word and other commonly used programs

                                                 Construction background and knowledge (flooring knowledge a plus)

                                                 Project Management experience

Job Description:

                       Oversee Estimating & Take Off:

    • Enter drawings into Take off software and create quantity take-off by others.
    • Complete the take off estimate
    • Create Phasing Plan if necessary
    • Review all Specifications of the project in full including Divisions 0, 1 and 9.


Assist with Proposals:

  • Assist Salesperson to create the Proposal.
  • Bid Entry in Management Software
  • Submit Proposal to Customer/Prospective Bidders

Order Entry:

  • Create an electronic job folder and Installation Field folder at this time.
  • Create job in accounting software

Oversee Submittals:

  • Order samples per requirements by others
  • Create transmittal and send to customer for review and approval by others

 Buyout Materials (Ordering):

  • PM will buyout materials by selecting appropriate vendor and selecting products
  • Create Purchase Orders. Shipment & Freight info is filled in at this level.

Project Management:                  

  • Track all material shipments
  • Communicate with Warehouse manager on delivery of material
  • Coordinate installation with Install Manager and put on job calendar
  • Pre-installation meetings
  • Extra Work Tickets
  • Manage Change orders
  • Documentation of moisture tests
  • Manage our Subcontractors
  • Lead weekly internal job meetings
  • Manage relationship with GC PM and Superintendant
    • Scheduling (fight starting earlier than we should to provide quality work)
    • Extra Work Tickets
    • Manage Change orders
    • Manage workforce and daily productivity
    • Manage punch list and closeout
  • Track job costing in accounting software
  • Communicate with Installation Manager & Salesperson on project from start to finish on project
  • Manage workforce and productivity
  • Manage punch list and closeouts
  • Forecasting 


  • Assist with Accounting on Schedule of Values layout
  • Performance/Payment Bond
  • Change Orders
  • Work with Accounting on billing for stored materials and monthly billing based on % complete
